Joy Yin

Poetry, QiXi

Hold me again & I am the

saddest girl to ever drop from

the heavens. Tumbling into your

arms, I am blameless. I was washing my

wings in the river when you

hid them, I am falling again. My

bones unspool into thread

          upon the desert. Drown

me, river of stars.

One year, one bridge, but love

lengthens, just like all shadows — leaving.

So hold me open, like a fresh silk wound.

Hold me open & step in. Tell me it was all

          worth it.
