我的心如孤魂

欲求另一颗心

日日似万圣节

 

欲求另一颗心

仍然无依无靠

也未必皆苦楚

自在享受此生

日日似万圣节

 

自在享受此生

我的心如孤魂

也未必皆苦楚

My heart, a lone spirit,

longs for a piece of heart from others

as if each day were Halloween.

 

Seeking other halves,

still drifting without an anchor,

yet not all is sorrow.

 

Drifting without an anchor,

freely enjoying this life,

each day feels like Halloween.

 

Given it can freely enjoy life,

my heart being a lone spirit,

Not at all full of misery.

Duc Van Khanh Tran is currently a Computer Science Ph.D. student at National University of Singapore. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Linguistics and has started writing mathematical poems since senior year in college. Mathematical poems usually refer to poems with mathematical themes or imagery and poems written in mathematical poetry forms, and most of the poems he has written are the latter.
